Cadillac Jack’s & Cactus Jack’s

Cactus Jack’s is a rustic and casual bar & grill place that offers out-of-this-world tex-mex food and cosy atmosphere to anyone looking for a great time in Baytown, Texas. Client approached me with a specific idea in mind – a Jack Daniels inspired identity with a Jackalope skull as the brand mascot. The logo was meant to differentiate the venue from your typical family restaurant and define the brand as a cozy manscape for guys looking for a hearty stake and a few drinks with friends.  We quickly explored a few different creative directions from simpler emblems to more intricate hand-drawn sketches and the rustic scratchboard concept quickly became a favourite.

Once the logo and tone of the brand was pinned down, we moved on to the next stage – creation of menus and a food truck wrap for the Cadillac Jack’s strategy sub-brand. Both menu and van wrap design feature a hand-drawn pattern to underscore  the Mexican origin of the restaurant:

Last, but not least, a set of hand-drawn icons was created to complement the logo throughout the website and all marketing media. Icons would later be used on business cards, napkins and coffee cups:

After doing the main identity, I got rehired to do a sub-brand called “Cactus Jack’s” that would go under the umbrella of “Cadillac Jack’s”. It was meant to take after the main logo but with a few new elements introduced in the background and a brand new tagline. Once more we explored a few different styles as alternatives but decided to stick with the scratchboard theme that was already established.

“One of the best design teams I’ve worked with. I have used them multiple times and always impressed with their work. They never let me down, unlike a majority of other designers I have used “
